"Kill the Indian, Save the Man" - a zine of pencil drawings.
"Kill the Indian, Save the Man" is a book of pencil drawings by illustrator Serena Katt. It was designed by Nottingham design studio Joe Rudi.
The zine is a limited edition of 150, 36 pages long, and just slightly off A5 size. It is printed on a smooth Munken paper stock, with a beautiful letterpress cover.
The drawings form a visual essay, which reflects on the forced assimilation of Native Americans and the dramatic changes to their traditional way of life. It is based on found archive photographs sourced from digitised public collections.
